Midwest AirCon

HISTORY OF THE MINNESOTA AIRSOFT CONVENTION
The first Airsoft convention in Minnesota was back in 2006.  Yes, 2006.  It wasn’t the first Airsoft convention in the US, that title likely belongs to the US Airsoft Expo in 2005 but we were ahead of the times on this.  Organized by a local businessman and MAA member this convention was a personal project of his to spread the word about Airsoft and a chance to show off some cool stuff.  Even back then we had a strong community showing

The convention went on hiatus for a while until the Minnesota Airsoft Association as an organization picked it back up in 2013.  We’ve tried to give the convention more than a “gun show” vibe by adding presentations, panels, and demos but ultimately we know the community wants to buy stuff.  Every year we reach out to more retailers, manufacturers, fields, and game organizers.

Rebranded the Midwest Airsoft Convention in 2025, this is our attempt to bring the wider community together.  We want everyone to stock up for the season and get new gear but we also want people to engage.  Relationships are how we grow as a community and as a game.
